We are delighted to announce that BSGI Vice President Mr Alan Treharne will be speaking at the 36th ISUOG World Congress 2026, taking place in London this September.
Mr Treharne will be joining a distinguished international faculty as part of Sonoscape’s SonoElite Club Symposium, bringing together leading voices from the field of ultrasound to share experience, expertise and perspectives on the evolving role of imaging in women’s health.
Transforming Community Gynaecology
Mr Treharne will present “Transforming Community Gynaecology: Imaging-led Pathways for Modern Women’s Health”, drawing in part on his hugely successful project with the Bevan Commission, which involved developing an innovative model of community gynaecology.
The project focused on creating a more streamlined, community-based approach to care, reducing the need for multiple appointments and enabling more services to be delivered closer to home.
The model has delivered impressive resource savings and significantly increased diagnostic capacity, while reducing pressure on diagnostic services and creating a more streamlined pathway for patients.
More information about the project can be found here.
Sharing Experience on an International Stage
The opportunity to speak at ISUOG provides an important platform to share insights from innovative approaches to community gynaecology with an international audience. The presentation also reflects Mr Treharne’s longstanding passion for developing community-based gynaecological services and exploring how innovative models of care can improve the way women access and experience gynaecological healthcare.
The ISUOG World Congress is a major international event for the ultrasound community, bringing together clinicians, researchers, industry partners and leading experts from across the world. Taking place from 4–7 September 2026 at ExCeL London, the Congress will feature a comprehensive programme covering developments across ultrasound in obstetrics and gynaecology.
Mr Treharne will be speaking as part of the SonoElite Club Symposium on Sunday 6th September, alongside Prof. Liona C. Poon (Hong Kong) speaking on Screening and Prevention of SGA; Prof. Ligita Jokubkiene (Sweden) presenting O-RADS Application in the Assessment of Adnexal Masses and Management Decisions; Prof. George Condous (Australia) exploring How Reliable is the IDEA Methodology for the Diagnosis of Deep Endometriosis?; and Prof. Xinling Zhang (China) discussing Contrast Enhanced Ultrasound Imaging: Clinical Values in the Diagnosis of Adnexal Tumors.
We are particularly proud to see BSGI represented at this international event, with Mr Treharne invited to share his experience and expertise alongside world-renowned colleagues as part of this prestigious international programme.
We wish Mr Treharne every success with his presentation and look forward to seeing BSGI represented at ISUOG World Congress 2026.
