Following the success of our Ultrasound Workshop in Cwmbran earlier this year and our Annual Scientific Meeting in London this summer, we’re excited to continue our programme of practical learning with our next BSGI Ultrasound Workshop, taking place on Monday 9 November 2026 at the Canon Training Centre in Stevenage.

Practical training is at the heart of what we want to offer through BSGI. We know that learning the principles of ultrasound is important, but having the opportunity to actually scan, practise techniques and develop a systematic approach is what can really help turn knowledge into confidence.

A workshop designed for you

Whether you’re thinking about getting into gynaecological ultrasound, looking to learn more, returning to scanning after some time away, or simply want to refresh and improve your existing skills, this workshop is designed to support you.

Perhaps you’re new to gynaecological ultrasound and want to understand how to approach a scan systematically. Perhaps you already have some experience but don’t get the opportunity to scan as often as you’d like. Or maybe you want to revisit the fundamentals and build on what you already know.

Wherever you are in your ultrasound journey, the workshop will give you the opportunity to learn, practise and build confidence in a supportive environment.

Learn the principles. Put them into practice.

The day will combine essential teaching with plenty of hands-on scanning, covering gynaecological and early pregnancy ultrasound.

The morning will provide the key knowledge and structured approach, while the practical sessions will give delegates the opportunity to put that learning into practice through small-group scanning stations.

With experienced faculty on hand throughout the practical sessions, there will be opportunities to ask questions, practise techniques and receive guidance as you develop your approach to scanning.

The emphasis is firmly on practical learning and confidence-building — helping you feel more comfortable approaching a scan, recognising normal anatomy and developing a consistent, systematic technique.

Building on a successful year for BSGI

This workshop follows a busy and successful year of education and training for BSGI.

Our Cwmbran Ultrasound Workshop earlier this year brought delegates together for a practical day of learning and hands-on scanning, while our Annual Scientific Meeting in London provided another opportunity for members and colleagues to learn, share knowledge and connect with others working in gynaecological imaging.

We’re delighted to continue that momentum with another workshop focused on something we know is highly valued by our community: the opportunity to scan and learn in a supportive, practical environment.
