Mr Anthony Griffiths, Consultant Gynaecologist and President of the British Society for Gynaecological Imaging (BSGI), led an evening discussion for the public on Wednesday 14th October, entitled Endometriosis: The Facts, Treatments and Hope.

With endometriosis among his areas of clinical expertise, Mr Griffiths explored current understanding of the condition, addressing common misconceptions while considering contemporary approaches to diagnosis and management, the role of surgery, fertility implications and emerging developments in the field.

Endometriosis remains a complex and often challenging condition to diagnose and manage. Its varied presentation, potential impact on quality of life and implications for fertility highlight the importance of an informed, individualised approach to care. Advances in imaging, evolving treatment strategies and ongoing research continue to shape clinical practice and the options available to patients.

The discussion provided an opportunity to consider both established approaches to management and the potential for future developments to improve care for those affected by the condition.

As BSGI President, Mr Griffiths continually contributes to the Society’s wider commitment to advancing expertise and innovation in gynaecological imaging. Discussions such as this highlight the importance of continued professional engagement with complex gynaecological conditions and the evolving evidence informing their assessment and management.
