The BSGI had the great pleasure of hosting Dr. Priya Narayanan’s detailed webinar “MRI in the Mapping of Deep Endometriosis”.  Dr. Narayanan explained the pivotal role MRI plays in providing a complete surgical roadmap for endometriosis patients prior to surgery and discussed the preference of MRI over CT and how to optimise imaging.  Dr. Narayanan examined the various sites of deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE) supported by her excellent accompanying images.

Dr. Priya Narayanan is a consultant radiologist at University College Hospitals (UCH) with a special focus on gynaecological oncology and endometriosis imaging. After training at St George’s Hospital and St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London, she became the lead MRI radiologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in 2008.  Dr. Narayanan has a specialist interest in abdominal and gynaecological imaging, and is experienced in ultrasound, CT, and MRI. She lectures nationally and internationally and has published extensively on gynaecological imaging. Her key areas of interest include gynaecology oncology imaging, gynaecological and urogynaecological imaging, and research into endometriosis.
