BSGI President Mr Anthony Griffiths was delighted to sit on the panel at the recent Menstrual Health Project: Educate, Equip & Empower event, held at the Royal Society of Medicine.

Mr Griffiths was invited to join the expert panel, contributing insights on the crucial role of imaging in improving diagnostic pathways and ensuring timely, accurate care for women experiencing menstrual health conditions  The event brought together patient advocates, clinicians, researchers, and community voices for an open and impactful discussion on advancing menstrual and menopausal health.

Reflecting on the day, Mr Griffiths said:

“It was a powerful day at the RSM, clearly demonstrating why we urgently need increased investment in women’s healthcare.”

The event created a dynamic space for honest conversation, lived experience, and professional expertise to come together. Patient advocates courageously shared their personal journeys, helping to highlight gaps in care and the urgent need for earlier, more accurate diagnosis. Medical experts added clinical context and evidence, emphasising the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration.

Mr Griffiths praised the organisers and attendees, noting the crucial value of bringing diverse voices together:

“Listening to lived experiences alongside clinical perspectives is essential if we are to deliver better pathways and outcomes for women. Events like this push the conversation forward.”

BSGI extends its sincere thanks to the Menstrual Health Project for hosting an energising and meaningful event, and to the advocates, clinicians, and community members who contributed their insight and experience.

As a society, BSGI remains committed to supporting education, advancing imaging standards, and advocating for improved care for all individuals affected by menstrual and gynaecological conditions
