The BSGI was proudly represented on Day 1 of the BSGE Annual Congress (ACN) in Birmingham, where BSGI Past President Mrs Leena Gokhale chaired a high impact scientific session titled ‘The Management of Premalignant and Malignant Endometrial Disease.’

The session formed part of a comprehensive programme delivered by the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy and brought together leading clinicians to explore current challenges and evolving practice in endometrial pathology.

The session addressed three clinically significant and interrelated topics:

  • Proliferative endometrium – interpretation and implications
  • Current practice in endometrial hyperplasia

With endometrial pathology accounting for a substantial proportion of gynaecological workload across the UK, the discussions were both timely and highly relevant to everyday clinical practice.

Under Mrs Gokhale’s chairmanship, and facilitated by Justin Clark and Paul Smith the session maintained a strong focus on practical application, multidisciplinary collaboration, and evidence based decision-making. The content highlighted the critical role of high quality imaging in risk stratification, guiding biopsy, informing surgical planning, and supporting follow up strategies.

We extend our congratulations to Mrs Leena Gokhale, the facilitators and speakers for contributing to an outstanding start to the BSGE ACN.
