BSGI committee member Rowena Sharma recently attended the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE) Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM), describing it as “a brilliant few days in London” filled with learning, collaboration, and innovation.

Rowena took an active role in the pre-congress programme, contributing as faculty on the hysteroscopy course. Working alongside colleagues from the BSGE hysteroscopy subcommittee, she helped deliver a highly engaging day of practical training and expert-led presentations, supporting the development of skills across the specialty.

The main conference, hosted at the QEII Centre, brought together professionals from across gynaecology for a packed schedule of insightful talks, live cinema sessions, and industry-led simulation. The event showcased the latest advances in endoscopic practice and highlighted the breadth of expertise within the field.

Reflecting on her experience, Rowena noted that one of the standout moments was the gala dinner held aboard the Silver Sturgeon, offering delegates a chance to connect in a relaxed setting while taking in striking night-time views of London’s iconic skyline.

Beyond the scientific programme, the ASM underscored the importance of collaboration within the specialty. As Rowena shared, events like this provide a vital opportunity to exchange knowledge, build practical skills, and collectively shape the future of women’s healthcare.
