MRI is a versatile modality, providing a window on a wide range of biophysiology. However, standard clinical gynaecological imaging protocols only include basic MRI contrasts, which often lack biological specificity. This talk aims to introduce the wide range of MRI methods and consider their potential applications in gynaecological imaging.
Dr Ian Driver completed his PhD on the contribution of vascular signals to functional MRI at the University of Nottingham. Moving to Cardiff University, Ian’s has gleaned unique insights into brain physiology through combining physiological challenges with neuroimaging methods. He has developed new methods to image brain perfusion and metabolism, whilst overcoming the challenges associated with ultrahigh-field MRI. Ian has a track record of developing harmonised protocols with reproducible translation to multiple research sites, through the UK7T Network. He has also worked to establish the Welsh Advanced Neuroimaging Database.
