The BSGI  normally hosts its Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) in March or April of each year. The meeting is held over two days, and the programme includes lectures, themed sessions and debates by invited speakers, short oral communication sessions, and poster abstract display. Prizes are awarded to the best short oral communication and poster. This scientific programme is intended to be of interest to all constituent groups within the Society.

The Society also organises hands-on Masterclass Workshops for trainees and trainers whereby key ultrasound skills are taught by the multidiscplinary faculty of the Society. These workshops have a national perspective when organised in conjunction with the ASM and a local context supporting trainers and trainees when organised in the UK Deanaries. The Society will be pleased to support any of its members who has participated in the Masterclass Workshops if he or she wishes to organise a local BSGI hands-on workshop. Please contact us on for further information.

The Society holds its Annual General Meeting and Dinner on the first day of its ASM.

For further information on the meetings, instructions to invited speakers, submission of abstracts and sponsors follow this link.

The Society will also be pleased to announce externally organised specialty-related meetings and events on its website in the "Other Meeting" section. Please contact the  with your event date and purpose. The Society reserves the right to make the final decision on any request.
